MY VINY
Lately, as an artist in residence in KlosterbergFabrik, I have been working on my street art /graffiti persona, as a multidisciplinary artist and a colorful geometric Graffiti writer, who loves portrait and illustration art too and combining every craft skill that I have for digital arts, electronic music and producing…
All of these backgrounds of crafts and soft skills, speaks into my artistic approach, made me think about creating my own persona character: a series of female portraits, drawn on a recycled Vinyl and embrace the support with all it’s graphic specifics from track names, side of the vinyl, mark, textures… focusing on the process of creating on shapes of the portrait with the size of the vinyl interpretation as for the ways that the Hair moves and tells about the character (that i always use as an expression to define my women and describe her emotion and character).
The project is a recycled art project of paintings, for exhibition: recycled vinyl, textile as canvas support, digital illustrations… for projection: motion design videos, light mapping… for exteriors: street art and graffiti murals.
This kind of creation could be easily translated to several artworks and with different scales as a beautiful reminder of oldies and the modern human that took a big step until now.
The Viny portraits could be easily translated to street art performances, music mapping performances, motion videos and installations, exploring the urban art styles and cultures worldwide, sharing a modern exploration of freestyle art and pop art culture esthetic.
Amel Naffetti, known as Mylow in the graffiti world, is also a figure in the music industry.
From an early age, she began decorating the interior and exterior walls of her home. Her consideration of these media as the fabric of her environment and communication developed.
Since then, she has followed her ambitions for music, fashion, illustration and has forged her artistic path by imposing herself in the artistic milieu in Tunisia.
She worked in cultural management, a way to broaden her skills and vision in the art and culture sector. Her influence with cultural actors has given her more expertise.
